StorySheet Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to StorySheet (“we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, stored, and protected when you use the StorySheet mobile application.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, the App may process the following types of information:

a. User-Provided Content

Photos, images, and short videos you select or create
Captions, notes, markup, text, backgrounds, and StorySheet content
Generated PDFs, images, videos, and other exported StorySheet files

b. Device & Metadata

Media metadata, such as date, time, location, file name, and device details, when available and permitted
Device type and basic app usage or diagnostic data where enabled

c. Contact Information

Email address or other information you voluntarily provide when contacting support or using supported sharing features

3. How We Use Your Information

We use or process information as needed to:

Create, display, edit, export, print, and share StorySheets
Add captions, markup, notes, backgrounds, and optional metadata
Process photos and short videos selected by you
Support email, system sharing, and supported third-party sharing features that you choose to use
Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve app performance and user experience

4. Data Storage and Retention

Photos, videos, generated StorySheets, PDFs, captions, markup, and related content may be stored temporarily when required to provide App functionality. Where temporary cloud storage is used, uploaded content may be automatically deleted within 7 days of creation. You should retain your own copies of any content you wish to keep.

We take reasonable steps to protect stored information, but no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use or interact with third-party services to provide functionality, including:

Firebase by Google for storage and backend services where applicable
Apple services for app functionality, media access, sharing, printing, purchases, and device permissions
Social-media or other sharing services when you intentionally choose to share content to those services

Third-party providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. StorySheet does not control how a third-party service handles content after you choose to share it.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

Your content may be shared:

When you export, print, email, post, or otherwise choose to share a StorySheet or related media
With recipients, apps, or services you select
With service providers only as necessary to operate supported App functionality

7. Photos, Videos, and Permissions

StorySheet may request access to your photo library, camera, microphone, or other device features only when needed for functionality you choose to use. You can manage these permissions in your device settings.

8. Notifications

If enabled, the App may send notifications related to:

StorySheet creation, export, or sharing activity
App updates or important service notices

You can disable notifications in your device settings.

9. Your Choices and Rights

You may:

Manage App permissions through your device settings
Request deletion of data that is retained by us, where applicable
Stop using the App at any time, which stops future use-related collection

10. Security

We use commercially reasonable safeguards to protect data processed by the App. However, no electronic system, network, or storage service is completely secure.

11. Children’s Privacy

StorySheet is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated policy will be posted within the App, on our website, or both, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised.
